About Arik
Arik Air (www.arikair.com) the largest Nigerian based airline since 2002, needs no introduction to the travel market and consistently lives up to its slogan “wings of Africa”. Those looking to fly internationally to Lagos or between any Nigerian airports will find that Arik Air offers affordable travel, safely and conveniently. It competes with the likes of Air Peace, Dana Air and Aero Contractors in the domestic market, and also faces competition from international airlines when flying beyond Nigeria’s borders
The airline is one of Nigeria’s most recognised export brands, yet was also hardest hit by recent aviation fuel shortages experienced at Lagos and Abuja International Airports, in particular. While the airline has often been at the centre of controversy in recent years, the airline is working hard to turn its financial and operational situation around. Reputable media outlets have also confirmed that the FG is currently renegotiating a management contract for Arik Air with Ethiopian Airlines.
The introduction of a new mobile platform in 2013 enhanced traveller experience offering ease of access to special offers, bookings and online payment options. The Arik Affinity Wings frequent flyer programme can also be easily enrolled for online. Frequent flyers can earn miles on trips which can be converted to discounts and savings.
The airline, which is wholly owned and operated by Ojemai Investments, took over the old Nigeria Airways facilities in Lagos in April 2006. Starting out with a handful of domestic routes, Arik Air worked hard to earn its reputation in the industry and by early 2008 had added international routes to its schedule.

The In-flight Experience
Everything about the in-flight experience with Arik Air is demonstrative of the airline’s intention to please its customers. The seats are comfortable and on short haul flights you will find yourself presented with snack and refreshment options, presented by well-trained flight attendants. If the intention is for travellers to leave the flight feeling looked after and appreciated, Arik Air certainly achieves that.
Premier Class passengers flying internationally can expect an in-flight experience like no other. Ample leg room is just one of the many benefits of travelling in this class. If its movies and music you want to enjoy, Arik Air offers a selection of TV and audio channels. The full bar service, a-la-carte menu, turn down service and noise cancelling headsets are just the cherries on the top of an already phenomenal premier class in-flight service.
Passengers flying economy class can also expect a comfortable experience. Enjoy a variety of movies, programs or music with the provision of a blanket, pillow and sufficient lighting. Passengers don’t need to worry about getting peckish as a 3 course meal, soft drinks and various alcoholic beverages are made available.
Partnerships and Codeshare Agreements
In an attempt to offer passengers an even better service and wider range of additional flights, Arik Air partnered with Emirates Airlines on the 26th August 2014. The two airlines signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in order to further develop their existing relationship and identify additional areas of cooperation.

Arik Air in the news during 2015
Arik Air’s Managing Director, Chris Ndulue, recently pledged to work with the newly-appointed Commissioner of Police Mr. Taiwo Lakanu as well as Murtala Muhammed at the International Airport in Lagos in an effort to improve security. This was announced in an effort to prevent stowaways from entering the wheel-well of aircraft. This pledge will ensure that all passengers to, around and from Nigeria, are better protected.
