EgyptAir Express, the wholly owned regional subsidiary of EgyptAir airline, was established in 2006 and launched in 2007 with a view to offer Egyptian air travellers access to more frequent flight services on domestic and regional route.
Prior to the launch of the Express service, EgyptAir’s domestic destinations were served by flights that were mostly too early in the morning or too late at night.
A key contributing factor was the fact that the aircrafts for domestic flights were the same ones operating on international routes, given the fleet size limitations.
Therefore, in order to offer a domestic service that met the needs of all markets and with adequate frequency, EgyptAir decided to create a subsidiary with domestic and regional flight services in Egypt and the Middle East as its core business.
Headquartered in Cairo and boasting a fleet of 12 aircraft flying to 14 destinations, the airline provides links between Cairo and Sharm El Sheikh, Luxor, Aswan, Abu Simbel, Marsa Alam and Alexandria. Its selection of secondary regional flight destinations complements the parent company’s scheduled flight service routes.
Thanks to its membership of the Star Alliance network via its parent company EgyptAir, EgyptAir Express is able to offer air travellers flights to over 162 international flight destinations.
Given its regular flights, superior in-flight experience and convenient online booking flight bookings system Egyptair Express has become a prominent airline brand in both the Egyptian domestic market and broader Middle East.
Its parent company, EgyptAir, is widely considered to be one of the pioneers of the modern aviation industry, and passenger flight services, in particular.
The airline operates a fleet of 12 Embraer E-170 jets, each capable of flying up to 76 passengers.
