About the airline
Skyward Express Limited was founded in 2013 by a group of local pilots and investors.
The company commenced operations with a single aircraft –a Fokker 50 and initially operated ad hoc charter between Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, South Sudan and Somalia. Within its first four years of operations, the company grew substantially.
The 2017 fleet
The total fleet now comprises 11 aircraft, including a Fokker 100, 7 Fokker 50s, 2 Dash-8- 300s and 1 CRJ, with additional fleet expansion slated beyond 2017.
Key routes and destinations
Skyward Express operates scheduled passenger services into Mombasa, Lamu, Malindi, Eldoret, Lodwar, Wajir and Mandera with plans to include additional regional destinations in the near future. The airline also continues to operate ad hoc and scheduled charter flights for both passengers and cargo locally, regionally within Africa and internationally.
