About the airline
Royal Air Maroc (www.royalairmaroc.com), often simply referred to as RAM, is the national airline of Morocco. Founded in 1957 and headquartered at Casablanca-Anfa Airport, the airline operates a fleet of 55 aircraft flying to over 90 international destinations. The airline operates regular scheduled passenger flights across Africa, Europe, Asia and the Americas, and also operates Hajj charter air services to Mecca. The airline also operates regular scheduled flights to Kano, Lagos and Abuja.
Fully owned by the Moroccan Government, the airline reported a net income of MAD184 million during the 2014 financial year. The airline’s primary air hub is situated at Mohammed V International Airport, with secondary hubs situated in Marrakesh, Tangier and Paris.
By the beginning of 2017, the airline employed over 3,000 staff members across its international operations. It counts Royal Air Maroc Cargo and Royal Air Maroc Express among its subsidiaries, and is one of Morocco’s key export brands. By as early as 2015, the airline was transporting over 6 million passengers per annum.

As of the beginning of 2017, RAM is flying to Casablanca, Essaouira, Marrakech and Nador in Morocco, Milan, Rome, Turin and Venice in Italy, Nairobi, Kuwait City, Beirut, Monrovia, Tripoli, Lisbon, Doha, Brazzaville, Moscow, Jeddah, Riyadh, Dakar, Freetown, Barcelona, Las Palmas, Malaga, Madrid, Tenerife, Valencia, Stockholm, Geneva, Zurich, Istanbul, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, London (Heathrow and Gatwick), Manchester, New York City and Washington DC, to name but a few international destinations.
The airline is also to commence regular scheduled flights between Casablanca and Manchester for the 2017 summer season, and is looking at launch flights to Bilbao in Spain, Napes in Italy and the Portuguese city of Porto in the near future.
As of 2017, the RAM fleet consists of a mix of Boeing 737s, 747s, 767s and 787s, as well as 4 Embraer E-190s and 5 ATR 72-600s. The airline has plans to upgrade its fleet, with the Boeing 787 being considered for long haul flights, and the Airbus Neo Boeing Max and Bombardier C-series under review for deployment along the airline’s medium haul flights.
